Privacy
HookPush stores as little as it can to deliver your notifications.
If you follow a channel
- Your device's push subscription: an address your browser makes for receiving notifications, plus its keys. Not your name, email, phone number or location.
- The topics you picked, if any.
- The kind of device (Android, iPhone, Mac, Windows, Linux), worked out once when you follow, so channel owners see totals.
When a notification is shown or tapped, your device adds one to a counter for that message. Nobody, including the channel owner, can see who saw or tapped what.
If you have an account
- Your passkeys: the public half only. Your fingerprint or face never leaves your device.
- Your password, if you sign in with one: stored only as a scrypt hash.
- Your email: needed if you sign in with a password, optional with a passkey. Used to confirm the address, to send password reset links, for news about the beta, and, only if you switch it on, to email you your own notifications when none of your devices took them.
- Your channels: name, page details, picture, topics, automations and settings.
- Messages: their text for 90 days, then only the counts. Scheduled messages keep their text until sent.
- API keys, stored only as hashes. Send links of channels in an account are kept so you can see them again in Settings; links made without an account are stored only as hashes.
- Automation events: the last 20 received per automation, for 7 days, so you can build the message template.
What is never done
No advertising, no analytics scripts, no selling or sharing of data. Notifications pass through the push service of your browser's maker (Apple, Google, Mozilla or Microsoft), encrypted so that only your device can read them. Emails we send go out through Mailgun, with link tracking switched off.
Deleting
Followers: tap Stop notifications on the channel's page, or block notifications for the site in your browser. Your subscription is removed.
Account holders: Delete account in the dashboard removes your account, channels, followers, history, automations and keys at once. Links made on the front page without an account are removed when the last device leaves them.
